A young target audience loves iPhones and wants them at a good price. They find them on JabkoLevně.cz, a Czech online store specializing in selling used iPhones. But highlighting great prices alone is not enough for this audience – for long-term brand success, trust needs to be built.
However, the visuals of the product ads didn’t keep up with the brand identity or social media trends. Product photos were just simple shots of phones on a white background. This limited creative options in ads, especially on visual platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
What’s more, product ads across all online stores in this segment look identical, or at least very similar. That meant we couldn’t use dynamic ads to build the brand.
Average Photos, Average Results
The original product photo was unedited and without any brand elements – simply an iPhone on a white background. While this might be enough for an online store, on social media such photos get lost easily. They had no logo, no consistent colors, no discount info – nothing that would catch the eye of someone scrolling through their feed.
The result? Ads performed only moderately and visually didn’t meet our expectations for modern brand communication.
On top of that, we couldn’t even launch dynamic campaigns on TikTok. Why? Because TikTok catalog ads with just iPhones on white backgrounds looked plain bad. So bad that we refused to put our name behind them.
Feed Image Editor Delivered a Visual Facelift
Enter Feed Image Editor, a Mergado tool for bulk editing of product images. It allowed us to take the entire feed of product photos and wrap them in brand visuals within moments. We added branded backgrounds, the client’s logo, bold discount labels and price tags, and clear CTAs. All of this consistently, across hundreds of products at once.

Before & After. What Do You Think?
Before using Feed Image Editor – the product photo didn’t say much. Beyond the iPhone’s color and number of cameras, all products looked the same.
The new look grabs attention and matches the brand’s playful identity. The images look professional, consistent, and optimized for social media use.
The transformation is dramatic. What used to be just a photo of a phone is now a striking banner communicating everything. In Collection format, the combination of a static banner with dynamic product display works especially well.
A New Look for Performance Campaigns: TikTok Surprised Us
We first implemented the new visuals on Meta platforms, where dynamic product ads had already been running.
The next milestone was launching dynamic ads on TikTok, where we hadn’t run catalog ads before. They performed well, so we quickly added retargeting campaigns. For TikTok’s young audience that responds to bold, visually engaging content, it was a bullseye. Finally, we could leverage this modern channel without having to produce individual video ads for every product.

JabkoLevně.cz Finally Has Its Own Visual Style
On Meta, ads with improved visuals maintained (or even improved) performance despite a higher budget. For performance marketing, that’s always a win. On TikTok, within just a few days we invested tens of thousands of CZK into the new dynamic campaign, and ROI stayed within safe margins – something that would likely have been impossible with the original materials.
Overall, thanks to FIE, TikTok spending grew from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands per month. At this scale, the cost of FIE is negligible.
More importantly, JabkoLevně.cz is starting to build a recognizable visual identity. With Feed Image Editor templates, we can easily reuse designs for new products or seasonal promotions. Visuals are no longer a bottleneck – instead, they expand our possibilities, from new ad formats to entering new platforms.
